Happy St. Patrick's Day!

So, I'm Irish (and Italian and German), and my name is Patrick, and I'm fond of spring, whiskey, and dark beer...this "holiday" has always ranked among my most favorites, even before alcohol was involved and we (my friends and myself) were in elementary school and pinched those not wearing green...never exactly understood that.

March will probably continue to be a light month for posting...I have a story I'd like to tell about visiting Tony in Louisiana for 30 hours; a story about filling up my days off with activities, like last nights' work as a bar-back in a busy SXSW bar scene (SXSW= South-by-South-West, a very large and internationally well known film and music festival held in Austin, locally pronounced "South-by"); I have some comments about living in Texas I've been trying to edit to make appropriate for this blog; and I have a long quote from Howard Zinn that I entered on the day I learned he died but didn't publish it because I couldn't get the context I wanted it in correct...

Also, this is my friend Chris Farley's 30th birthday. He was my best friend when we were little kids, and I thought it was weird when a fat guy on SNL got famous and had the name Chris Farley. While I truly enjoyed the comedic actor, that name for me will always be my intellectual outdoorsman pal two houses down with the treehouse. Happy Birthday Chris!

Also, today is our friend Kelly's 27th birthday. Congratulations on being engaged, being in Denver, thanks again for everything in Mexico, and, for the sixth year in a row on March 17th, I'll be donning the green shirt I got for your 21st. Happy Birthday Kelly!

Happy Pi Day

Still a math nerd, I'm wishing everyone a Happy Pi Day, since it's 3/14.

I know I've been lagging with this blog, but I've been busy (lame excuse).

I'll get back into the swing of it soon. My love goes out to everybody.
