Anyway, when Corrie and I were talking with Stephanie and Michael about a gig he had, "Near Chico," he said, we furrowed our brows. "You know, right around here somewhere."
We soon realized he meant Chino, which is, technically, around us. His gig was in Rancho Cucamonga. We found it on the map. "Yeah, see, it's only an hour away..."
For the record: that was not a quote from me or Corrie. It would take an hour to get to Rancho Cucamonga from our place at maybe 3 am.
I've grabbed some screen shots to emphasize the relative distance between our place in downtown Long Beach and Rancho Cucamonga, just for my own understanding. Here's us and Michael and Steph's drive:
And, for my Sac people, here's the relative match---Citrus Heights to Stockton:
And for my peoples who know San Luis Obispo area, here is the relative match---Paso to Santa Maria:
I've lived in Citrus Heights and San Luis Obispo, and both of those drives---to Stockton from CH and from Paso to Santa Maria---are ludicrous on their face; you'd only do it if you had a very specific reason.
Long Beach to Cucamonga is about the same.
The Grand Prix was also here over the weekend, polluting our already shitty parking zone with thousands of out-of-towners and filling the air with the sound of combustion-engine bee-hives.
And how about down Linden, as the fuselages with wheels screamed by...
Really, I'll get to the Berlow-Bertsch wedding soon enough.
Norm, remember when we used to bump each other at stoplights? This Benz driving punk didn't even hit us that hard, but I sure scared the shit out of him...Monterrey and Santa Rosa in SLO...
