AGA Holiday Show 2025

Last year was our first year, and we marveled at the scope.

This year we knew what to expect, and chose an early showtime to make life easier on our Saturday (parking; the melee; post-show lunching; the remainder of the day, which itself saw a birthday party to go to).

This year we grabbed a seat more straight on that last year. Getting there early helped.

I chose up high so we could have a back of some kind to lean against.

The photos don't really do the video justice, but the show was great. It's kind of what you expect out of 5 year olds and "choreography." It's like they understand that they're supposed to be "in unison," and they're really cute.

I filmed both balance beam routines they had. I did that because just watching them gave me more anxiety than I would have guessed, and by filming them, I found myself occupied enough that I didn't tense up.

If my daughter ever does a balance beam routine? Let's just wait for that bridge...

  1. This past year I volunteered at a sanctioned Gymnastics event. It was very scary watching these girls. The coaches were helpful and spotted correctly. But if one of these girls had been one of "mine" OY the worry watching would have been unbearable. The Hippo event was delightful.
