Coming down a hill in our new city of Long Beach will give a person a startling view, something that is strangely out of place, but mesmerizing as well:



I see this and I start imagining some futuristic Mesoamerica, or something from Return of the Jedi.

When you find out it's a building on Long Beach State's campus while on a bike tour, you feel more connected, maybe, to the mysterious...maybe the mysterious becomes more known, but not necessarily less mysterious...
