This morning at a few minutes past midnight, a small (3.4 magnitude) temblor shook the southern areas of Los Angeles, and was felt in Carson and Bellflower among other places. I mention Carson and Bellflower because they are communities that border Long Beach and are part of the separation between LA and LB.
Here's an article about the quake.
The first earthquake Corrie and I experienced together rolled through SLO in 2005 or '06...I was in class in topology, one of my grad classes, and Corrie was at the bank. It was cool to us then, but we weren't running for our lives, or left sifting through the remains of our belongings in the debris of a house.
